Cypress, up close.
Six square miles between the 605, the 22, and the 91, minutes from Seal Beach. I've been here since 1998.
Most of Cypress went up in the 1960s and 70s, which is why the lots here are bigger than what you'll find in newer parts of the county. Single-story ranch homes, wide driveways, real backyards.
Cypress College anchors the north side on Valley View, and Oak Knoll Park on Orange Ave is where the Community Festival happens every fall. City Hall sits right across the street.
Getting out of town is easy — the 605, 22, and 91 are all a few minutes away, and you can be putting your feet in the sand at Seal Beach in about fifteen.
It's a quiet town where people stay. My sister still lives in the house I grew up in. That's not unusual here.
